Chapter 4 - His Dead Body
Chapter 4 – His dead body
“Mummy… No…..”
Tears choked my voice as I pleaded with Askash’s grieving mother. “You know that Aakash loves to tease me and he is doing this because I was upset with him, but please, tell him I’ve forgiven him. I’ll never be angry with him again. Please, ask him to wake up.”
With trembling hands, I turned towards him, my heart pounding in my chest. Gently, I reached out and pulled back the white cloth that enveloped his still form. His bike jacket, once vibrant and alive with our shared adventures, now lay torn and stained with dried blood. My eyes traced the dried rivers of blood, following the path of his injuries.
There, on his pale skin, I saw the evidence of his struggle – cuts, bruises and wounds. His hand, once warm and strong, now lay lifeless at the edge of the bed. But it was his face, peaceful yet forever frozen in time, that shattered my heart into a million jagged pieces.
And then, as if drawn by an invisible hand, my gaze settle on the shine of the metal. There, amidst the chaos and sorrow, lay our engagement ring – a symbol of our love, our dreams, our future, now altered forever.
“BANG,” I passed out, my body impacting the side table with a sudden collision.
The atmosphere was thick with concern as I remained seated by fiancé lifeless body, clutching his hand tightly and engulfed in a heavy silence. Not a single word escaped my lips, for I could not bear to release his hand.
I COULD NOT
I JUST CAN’T
I cried uncontrollable, burdened by the weight of regret knowing that our final encounter was shadowed with unresolved emotions pierced me to the core.
